Who we are

Forty8K Ltd

Forty8K Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (no. 17423348) at 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. We are the data controller for everything described here. For anything about your data, write to [email protected].

The website

The site is static pages. No analytics, no cookies, no sign-ups, no forms.

One thing happens in the background that is worth knowing:

• Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees your IP address and browser details when you load a page and may keep short-lived server logs for security. We don't use those logs to identify you.

DODGE

On your device

DODGE stores your best score and the name you last typed in your browser's local storage. That stays on your device. We can't see it, and clearing your browser data removes it.

The leaderboard (optional)

After a game you can choose to submit your score. If you do, we store:

• the name you typed (up to six letters or numbers — it doesn't have to be your real name)
• your score and how long the run lasted
• the date and time
• a hashed (one-way scrambled) version of your IP address, which we use only to limit abuse and can't turn back into the address

Your name and score are shown publicly on the top-ten board inside the game. Our basis for this is our legitimate interest in running a leaderboard that you've chosen to join. Scores are kept until the board is reset or you ask us to remove yours.

Scores pass through plausibility checks. Entries that can't have come from a real run may be rejected or removed.

Email (optional)

After submitting a score you can give us an email address and tick what you want:

• One email when Seedlore launches.
• An email if your DODGE score is beaten — at most once a day, and only while your score is being watched.

Nothing is sent until you click a confirmation link we email you first. We store your email address, which boxes you ticked and the exact wording you agreed to, the time, and a hashed IP. Our basis for this is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address and preferences.

We send email through Resend, who process it on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Our leaderboard and email list are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Both providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, the transfer is covered by the UK's approved safeguards (the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum).

If you're under 13, please don't give us your email address.

Seedlore

In development

Seedlore isn't released yet. This section will be rewritten from the behaviour of the build that ships, before it ships, and will match the data-safety declaration on its store listing. The intent is: no account, no sign-in, nothing you create is shared, and we'll be plain about any advertising it carries.

Your rights

What you can ask us to do

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. For a leaderboard entry, tell us the name and score and we'll remove it. For email, the unsubscribe link in any message does it instantly, or write to us.

[email protected]

If you think we've got something wrong and we haven't put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, where we hold your email, tell you.
